Press-on nails, also known as glue-on nails.
Type of artificial nails. Generally, they are made from plastic. Sometimes on the package says gel or acrylic, which means they are coated with.
Press on nails look like acrylic nails but are less harmful, also they are much cheaper. It’s a great alternative if you have no time for a salon appointment. You can do salon-quality nails at your home in your own comfort zone. To do press on nails at home takes less than 10 minutes of your time. For beginning can be a bit longer but not much.
Press on nails come in the kits. Which includes glue or adhesive stripes. Follow all steps on the package. The only thing I don’t suggest is the don’t buff your natural nail. It’s can cause damage after time. Instead of that apply clear nail polish and let dry. It’s become like a protective coat between glue and press on the nail.
Prepare your nails as usual before any other manicure type. Clean, shape, push back cuticles. Clean nails with rubbing alcohol, to remove any remaining oils left on your nails before applying.
Out there are many different shapes and designs.
Press on nails can last up to two weeks, if take good care. You even can reuse them once you remove them.
You can use them just with the adhesive, but then they last up to 2 days. Which is a good solution if you need your manicure just for a day or special evening. If you would like them to last longer, use glue.
However, you can cut, file, shape them to your satisfaction. You can paint them or do any design you would like to. Just file down the shiny surface of the nail, then nail polish can stick on it.
The best way to remove them
Is to soak off method. Feel acetone/ nail polish remover, in a small bowl. Soak until the glue becomes loose, then effortlessly you can pull them off.
If you would like to reuse them, soak them in hot soapy water applying cuticle oil before. After just need to clean them properly and store them for later. Never try to physically pull them off, because this process can badly damage your natural nails.
To make them look natural and real, pick the right size for each nail or shape them if necessary. When applying don’t put too close to the cuticle line.
Lately, more and more people use press-on nails, even celebrities. Not just because they are healthier. However, you can change them any time, and have a new mani every other day.
Why press on nails is the best?
They never chip, they never lose they shine, you never disappointed with the color. How many times you had disappointment when you buy new nail polish. After you get home and try it on, the color, not the one you expected. If one of them pops off, it’s easy to clean up and redo.
